How to get to Moorlands Hotel

From Scarborough:
Follows the signs A171 to Whitby.
Follow signs to the town centre. After crossing the high level bridge with views over the harbour on the right, keep on this road until the traffic lights. Go straight over the traffic lights, down the hill.
After the right-hand bend, take the road on the left (Chubb Hill Road) signed West Cliff. At the roundabout take the second exit, (Upgang Lane) signed West Cliff.
Ignore the first right signed West Cliff Car Park, but go on to the roundabout and take the third exit (Argyle Rd) signed West Cliff. At the sea front turn left to the North Promenade.
Moorlands is the last property on the left. There is a drive in front of the hotel for you to unload your luggage. The car park is just round the corner.
From York:
Take the A64 road from the A1 via the York by-pass to Malton. At the approach to Malton keep on the A64, following the Scarborough signs until you get to the left hand turning, signed Whitby and Pickering on to the A169.
Follow through to Pickering. At the roundabout, go straight ahead signed A169 to Whitby. After coming down the steep hill known as ‘Blue Bank’ continue through Sleights and up the hill.
At the roundabout with the A171 turn right for Whitby. After only ¼ mile fork left, signed Whitby Cliff.
* After the Spar Garage turn left into Love Lane, signed West Cliff. At the next roundabout take the third exit. After the parade of shops take the next road on the left, again signed West Cliff.
Moorlands Hotel is the first property on the right when you reach the cliff top. There is a drive infront of the hotel for you to unload your luggage.The car park is just round the corner.
From Middlesbrough:
Take the A171 to Whitby.
After passing the A169 road junction (which comesup from Pickering) continue for only about ¼ mile and then fork left, signed West Cliff.
Continue following instructions from * above.
By Rail:
To Whitby station, 1 mile from Moorlands, the only train is from Middlesborough, but there is no Sunday service. An alternative route is from York to Scarborough by rail, and then X56 Middlesborough bus to Parade Shops near Whitby Cricket Ground, two minutes from White Point Road and Moorlands.
By Bus:
The National Express service runs from London to Whitby bus station, one bus each way per day. Also, the Coastliner runs from Leeds via York to Whitby Bus station, or the X56 service from Middlesborough to Parade Shops at White Point Road, two minutes from Moorlands.
